The Rock, Bury

Challenge:

The Rock in Bury is one of the largest retail and leisure destinations to open in 2010 consisting of diverse line up of fashionable stores, amazing restaurants and a state of the art cinema/bowling experience. The site consists of both internal and external paving, concern was expressed regarding the high volume of pedestrian traffic which brings about significant staining from food, drink, and chewing gum etc, that would in turn require fastidious cleaning regimes ranging from pressure washing to vacuum sweeping. It was recognised that these cleaning regimes in turn would have an adverse effect on the paving in terms of eroding the jointing sand, leading to paver de-stabilisation.

Solution:

Resiblock offered from its significant range of specialist paving sealers, Resiblock Resiecco, a water based solvent free paving sealer suitable for both internal and external application, the same is used at sites such as Manchester United Football Club and the O2 Arena in London. The product when applied to the paving will stabilise the jointing sand preventing its erosion from both natural elements i.e. wind, rain etc as well as preventing it’s erosion from manmade forces such as pressure washing and vacuum sweeping providing effectively maintenance-free paving. Furthermore, the product provides an excellent barrier against staining from drink, food stuffs and chewing gum etc.

Resiblock Resiecco is a one pack material, it is broadcast over the surface of the paving with simplistic tools and does not require any specialist labour. It will bind the paver jointing sand preventing its erosion from trafficking, natural elements and manmade cleaning regimes.
