Case Study

Project: Solihull Gateway
Solihull Gateway
Client: Solihull Council
Contractor: Balfour Beatty
Site: 4,000m2
Resiblock Product: Resiblock Resiecco
Date: July to October 2015

The Site

The Solihull Gateway project will see in the region of £2.3m of highway improvements in the Station Road and Poplar Road area of Solihull town centre, a key ‘Gateway’ for access into the town centre by the end of October 2015. The aim of the project is to make Solihull town centre more accessible and convenient to visitors and to improve and update the look of the area.

The installation of Resiblock Resiecco, a single pack, specialist, water based paving sealer designed to stabilise the jointing sand, preventing its erosion from cleaning regimes, whilst providing significant stain protection to the surface of the porous flag paving. Once cured, it remains fully elastomeric thereby accommodating the small elastic deflections incorporated within the pavement design. Resiblock attended site and worked with Contractors Balfour Beatty to carry out a product trial prior to installation to demonstrate the ease of application of Resiblock Resiecco.

The Benefits:

Stabilisation of the sand filled joint notwithstanding cleaning regimes whilst imparting the following additional benefits:
